What are thoughts about treatment of pumpkins with (plant) hormones to make
them increase their fruit growth rate and size? As you can see, I'm
ignorant about competition etiquette- would any rules operate to prevent
this being used?
I'm not botannical enough to know the details, but I think with trial and
error a good combination could be found which speed fruit growth up a lot.
(Rick- I'd bet there is a genetic involvement in the hormonal aspect of things)
I have to say, it was much nicer to think of pumpkin growing without all
these artificial methods of winning.
