Keep going Joe I think you are on the right track. The only thing that I'm concerned with is you might  not be spending enough time with the environmental side of growing pumpkins. Such as soil preparation, wind control, watering, fertilizing, pest control.
I think to many growers have the Jack and the bean stalk mentality. It is not all in the seed.
I think if you spend as much time researching the genetic traits as well as the environmental factors you should do quite well this season.
I think you are on top of the genetic game you can be a very valuable source of knowledge.
