If you take this one step further, then one could say Joel Holland is
already one step ahead. By chance have you looked to see what all his
crosses from his 5 biggest pumpkins in 2000 were ? You got it Lloyd x
Holland! Hmmm, sounds like maybe I will get a few more of those. Keep in
mind though these two guys are two of the grandfathers of this hobby. Trying
to find crosses without either of their names in the genetic line is next to
impossible. Yet, You must still like the way these two gentlemen cross
their pumpkins for increased vigor. I know I do. Good seed in my opinion is
about 33% of the equation. Good soil 33%, weather and climate 33%, are also
huge factors.
