Re: Tyson
Fellow Pumpkin Growers,
This is my first year grwoing giant pumpkins, and I have been a
subscriber to this forum for several months. I have done the best I can,
and made several mistakes. However, things are turning out pretty well
so far, as I have some respectable sized pumpkin plants in my garden. A
few questions, though. First, I have one main vine that is kinked and
one that is slightly cracked. Neither of these conditions seems to be
hurting plant growth so far, but should I avoid setting a pumpkin on a
vine that will inhibit growth later on? Secondly, should you mound soil
over all the nodes on all the vines of the plant, or just the one between
say 2 and 8 feet from the base of the plant?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Chris in NJ
