Hi Beth,
I've been thinking about you and th e sand sling situation. The sling
Idea sounds impractical to me as the pumpkin gets really heavy, what would
you use to suport the sides of the sling? Images of swaying pumpkins in the
wind ,causing the sling to split, and prematurly brake free. Then your
purfectly round pumpkin could roll away , crushing some inoscent passer by,
and possible be damaged. It's to much for my imagination to deal with , I
would NEVER sleep.
A deep raised bed of sand sound s much more stable to me.
When I was a kid we used to get giant truck tire inner tubes and blow
them up to use as rafts . Would you consider somthing along those lines? It
would be alot less work. And we would all sleep better.

Pumpkin Flower
