Re: internet

Marv,

Your a good man no doubt but having the internet in the home is like
having an magazine stand with every level of interest, from the highest
intellectual pursuit to the worst human degradation you can imagine.
Certainly it cannot be compared to the supermarket newstand where at
least we have community standards. The internet has no limits. With the
same ease that your daughter can pull up the information on civil rights
she can pull up the most graphic dipictions of men and women having
every kind of sex with every kind of animal other then human. As easy as
your son gets the Nascar results he can pull up graphic photos of men
and women urinating and deficating all over each other. This is only the
tip of that iceburg. Until they incorporate at least the same community
standards that limit what we can see at a local newstand or send through
the mail I simply do not want that type of unlimited access in the hands
of a 7 or 9 year old. I do not want to have to police their viewing
time, I shouldn't have to. The other day my 8 year old mentioned that
while on the internet inside their 3rd grade classroom they accidentally
pulled up a sexually explicit interent site. It would be as easy as
looking for the X-Files and pressing the sight next to it.

Marv, take 5 minutes on your computer and try your best to access the
worst material you can. If you must be shocked into belief check out
BEASTIALITY on the internet. Check out URINATION on the interent. You
will see photos you wish you hadn't. I have seen all of that before. It
in itself does not shock me. That it was so easily accessed on the
interent completely shocked me. It needs to be controlled. Kids (let
alone many adults) don't know the first thing about self control. You
can't be their all the time. There are financial dangers concerning the
internet and the manner in which they can sway unsuspecting persons into
spending hugh amounts of money for their curiosity. I think the internet
at this stage has the potential to be a real beast. I would be very
aware of that.
