Beth,
What about putting one of those two way hose splitters with the valve for each
side just before sprinkler or what ever you distribute the water with. close
sprinkler side, turn on water,open other one and run out the hot water, then
switch the valves back,you could attach another hose to carry the hot water
away if needed.
