Combination electrodes commonly cost $100 or more. A meter for less than
a few hundred dollars may be useless.
However, the prices have been badly over-inflated by intrument companies
for they have not learned they can make more by building quality
instruments for less. Consider Horiba a Japanese company that is finding
they can sell lots when the price is lower. I have not heard of Kelway.
I am very doubtful, but it may be good. University people using the
Horiba nitrate tester say it is highly dependable. You just squeze a
drop of juice from a plant onto the plastic cover and get an accurate
reading.
Instrument companies are in trouble. We may begin seeing a crop of
fine new minature instruments.
