Grow lights and waterbed heaters

Hello fellow pumpkineers,
	I am new at this giant pumpkin building thing and I have a few
questions to ask of you more experienced pumpkin engineers.  

First: I have and old waterbed heater and was wonderin' if in any of you
folks ever use this as a pumkinbed heater?  Will it work?  Or will I
just be burnin' up a perfectly good waterbed heater?

Second:  I bought a 75 watt grow light bulb at the local grocer's.  A
friend of mine, and pumpkin buildin' competitor, told me that you can
burn your pumpkin out on too much light.  Do pumpkins need sleep time in
their comfy pumpkinbeds?
