Re: ICH! INFESTED! HELP!
We have a ton of them here in Pa, and they are gypsy moths.. The nest is the caccoon looking web, and they will destroy the tree before too long. Strangley enough, they have eaten and destroyed one mountain side along side the highway here, and directlly across the road, is another hill side, and it is as green and plush as can be, because the wroms didnt get across the highway without getting squished. Alot of people put tangle foot up around the base of the tree, before the problem arrives, or if it is too late, may burn it out with a torch, but
that method is for the professionals. Other than that, it can be very sad..

> This isnt a pumpkin question, but I don't know of any better group to ask about pests in the yard/garden. I've been finding nests of worms on my trees and bushes. They start with a small cocoon in the crook of some branches, and build on it until its huge and kills off the leaves on the branches above the cocoon. The first nest I found had worms about 1/2" long. The nest I found today was loaded with 1" worms just packed in the layers of the nest. I soaked it with bug killer, peeled off the nest with a stick, and then soaked it all again.
