In some cases you are right and in other cases the greatness keeps going
even if you continue selfing or sibbing. One advantage with selfing is that
isolating positive traits might be easier and faster. Also a great way to
preserve genes of those hard to get seeds.
I don't kow if Joe Ailts is still on this list, but he might like to jump
in one this one. He presented some time ago a pretty good paper discussing
hybrid vigor, isolating genes, etc.
PS...the 1062 is selfed (purposely) ... part of a 2-3 year plan. We shall
see.

Selfed not that great, next generation with outcross real good, following generation throwing real well. Correct me if I'm wrong. See I said we will all learn from this discussion.
