     you should definately take the 260 #'r.  You grew it, and you
should be proud of it.  sorry to hear about fat boy.  are you going to
weigh it?  maybe his offspring will do better for you next year.

Succumbed to a subcutaneous rot spot as large a the palm of a hand, but
totally hidden by unblemished skin.

I am debating whether or not to take my other fruit - about 260 pounds -
to Elk Grove, or to just sit in my tent sulking.

Actually my son, age twenty seven, was more upset than I. He was ready
to go to the weighoff with his family to cheer us on.
Growing this pumpkin gave me a summer of enjoyment as great as the last
time I played broom hockey on ice with the church teen group. I guess
the major problem with the small yard is that there is only room for one
big one.

Thanks for all the advice and help you gave me since this spring. It has
been a great experience.
