Cindy is right, that if they are in wet soil that is heavy they will not have
enough O2 and die.
Another thing to look at is were you are planting them-maybe the soil is
heavy and too dry, or they are being exposed to much sun.
How are you rooting your cuttings?
If you are doing them in water-this will make acclimation to a new soil more
difficult.
