Thank you so much for salvia information.  No we are not as hot as you are.
In fact we are having unusually cool weather in the high 70's and low 80's
with morning high clouds.  But I understand what you mean by keeping them
moist and in shade.  I love salvia and have several kinds.  Will make
cuttings this morning and get them going.
