I am trying to save seeds from the following plants:
Papaver
Aquilegia
Campanula - Cup and Saucer
I don't know how to go about selfing these plants, or if it's worth the
trouble. The papaver that I want to get seed from is Turkelouise. The
aquilegia is one of the McKana Giants that I started last year and I have a
beautiful dark purple with pale purple cups. My neighbor brought over a
campanula - cup and saucer in a pot. All of mine that I started from seed
only have the cup - not saucer. So I thought that if I selfed the cup and
saucer plant I could save those seeds and get the right thing.
Just don't know how to go about it. Does the papaver self easily. I have
some great nylon tool netting that I can use to protect from bee pollination,
but I am not sure how to go about selfing these plants. Any help or
suggestions would be appreciated
