    European ginger would be very nice... super clean, glossy green foliage
in the shape of hearts. they are a bit slower growing than our native and
about half the height. I certainly enjoy mine here in my raised beds. Try
with the other nice native ginger A. shuttleworthii. It turns beet-bronze in
the winter for a nice contrast...then alternate with clumps of Japanese
painted x lady "Ghost" ferns in silver-gray that are stiffly upright and
vase shaped in outline.
