Re: [SHADEGARDENS] aphids

   Thanks to all who sent suggestions for aphid control.

   The veggie oil and ivory soap were mixed and spritzed last night.
   Every visible aphid bit the dust with remarkable and astounding rapidity.
   Now I am watching the seedlings to see what will happen to them.
   Not being sure of the length of the aphid egg/hatching/birth cycle or
   other pertinent data, I expect to spray again in a few days.  Some
   interesting one-leaf-as-yet seedlings have come up from the seed off
   hosta REGAL RHUBARB and some good rooting is noted on the
   seedlings off hosta MIDWEST MAGIC.
