I agree, particularly with the last sentence. My skin is sensitive to
soaps--especially Ivory. (I now use only Aveeno.) Soaps are chemicals and can
be VERY toxic. E.g. detergent soaps. I doubt if anyone would pour a bucketful
of a mixture of soap, hort. oil and water over a plant.

If one follows the directions on the can of insecticide spray, I see no
problem with toxicity;well, I'll put it this way--such would have no greater
toxic effect on our environment than emptying the contents of a bathtub or
washing machine, in which Tide, Ivory or Nutragena shampoo had been employed
by the user, into one's sewage system.

At any rate, isn't Barb Brown's approach the simplest and most effective and
least dangerous of all?
