Ran is right on the money here.  In my zone 4 paradise evergreen hollies are
growing and fruiting.  I am seeing cuttings strike in cold frames and I have
dozens of plants.  You need to buy ilex x meserveae, any of the Blues.

They will take a lot of shade and will withstand drought conditions when
established.  I would water well the first year or two.  Ours, five large
shrubs, are needing clipping now after first being prayed over.
