July Shipment... help! (was: bad experiences)

Hm, no, you're not. Your economy might be humming, but the standard of life
is vastly better in Western Europe.

        Can we cut out the jingoism and return to shade gardening? To my immense
surprise, I received a shipment today (a bizarre shipping date, to my mind)
of three Astilbes, 20 Sparaxis, 25 Freesias, and three Japanese Iris. The
Sparaxis and the Freesias, I will have to return, since there's absolutely
nothing I can do with them at this time of the year, but will the Astilbe
and the Iris make it if I plant them now and water them nicely (or have
them nicely hailed, more likely...)?
