Bill
I read your notes and pieces in the Fern Quarterly with intrest. Have
used ferns in my landscap designs for years, but only in the last few,
have I seriously started a collection at Eagle Bay Gardens, our display
gardens at Dunkirk, NY. We have ( I think ) sucessfully used ferns and
hostas in a blend with hundersd of other shade plants for a nice effect.
Have I am intreased in just about any ferns that will work in my garden
and am now selling quite a large selection , along with rare plants and
hostas. I found ( last year) a "Tassel Fern" with semi crests. The
ends of the foliage turn in. I guess "crisped" would be a more accurate
term for this. Also reciently found a crested 'Ghost' Has that one
been found before? Much to learn about ferns. If you get up this way ,
plan to stop.
Thanks
