We grow Veronicastrum sibericum which is similar to the more commonly seen
species, and it has bluish flowers. Perhaps it was this, mislabeled? It is
a very beautiful garden plant. It could happen - as a nursery person, I
know how easy it is for plants to get mislabeled and then distributed under
the wrong name, and the mistake builds exponentially from there, confusing
everyone. We grew it from seed exchange seed, which is not always labeled
correctly, and had to wait for quite a few years to make sure of what we had.
