FORREST:
Watch your wrens during the day and you will find them bringing slugs to
the nest for their young. Most birds do their primary feeding at dawn and
at sundown; at dawn the insects are warming up and moving, but not too
fast, and at dundown the mosquitos are available. I have slugs, and I find
them all the time in the early morning, sometimes in/on water droplets on
leaves, or on the ground under the leaves, on the bluestone that stays
cool, and in the furrows on tree trunks. So they are available to the wrens
during certain hours of the day. Just be thankful that you don't have a
slug problem.
