Chopped leaves is the best when you run out of grass clippings.. I have
always cleaned up old growth debris in my perrenial beds....makes it
easier for me to tuck in new bulbs! Also, there are not moresafe havens
for borer type insects to lay broods nor any place for fungus to take up
residence!  All that stuff will go into your compost heap,add some lime
and watch it cook!

Above all, have fun in your new garden!!!!
