I think people are misreading Judy's e-mail. She is making a plea to the Siberian people to get more involved in Siberian publicity -- not criticizing others for excluding us. There are many people on the AIS board who grow and enjoy Siberians. I don't believe there is any effort to exclude Siberians from the bulletin. I would suggest that the problem is more a lack of interesting articles being submitted. One can't print what one doesn't have in hand. I would love to see an article on siberians in the perennial border. Unfortunately I cannot remember seeing many picures from Irisarians of Siberians in a perennial border. Therefore it is hard to create an effective article. For there to be really good articles there needs to be forethought and planning sometimes for a year in advance. I am certain I could find gardening journals that would print articles on Siberians as ideal border plants, but first one must see a number of perennial borders where siberians were use effectively with other perennials and have the pictures to support that. --- Judy Hollingworth <cyberiris@cablespee wrote: > > >Hi Everyone: > > As the new president of SSI i feel that we are > really hurting as a > society because we do not have anyone in charge of > publicity or with > an in to the AIS powers that be to get us much > coverage in the AIS > bulletins.
