Re: Cutting off Water

Hi John,

Where in CA are you? I am in Nevada City,if I didn't water through the summer my whole garden would be dust! I have soakers on my sibs and water 2 times a week for half the day. If its over 100 ( rarely, but it was today ) I water 3 times a week. My sibs go dormant in the fall when they slow down and frost, I trim back the leaves when I get around to winter clean-up. ( sometime between Nov and March!  < smile>)

Subject: [sibrob] Cutting off Water

I have some great Sibs that are just going gonzo.  The bloom was great
(although done for some time now) and the plants are exceptionally
healthy.

My question is this:

In my California weather that occasionally gets as hot as 95 (30%-40%
humidity)  but mostly stays in the 75-85 range, should I ever stop
watering them, let the foliage die back, and have the plants go
dormant?

Sometime this fall I am gping to give them a "haircut" to ground level
to clean them up. I did not do that last year and they looked terrible
with all that dead foliage hanging about.

Thanks
