I don't think it is a virus. It is happening this year for the first time on
several varitieties here and I doubt whether a virus could spontaneously
appear/disappear from one year to the next all over N. America. (just an
opinion)
I think it is one of those unexplained things.
If it is a virus, could color breaking virus come over from lilies? Virus
does mutate. Most lilies we have ever bought from the large wholesale bulb
growers come terribly infected with it. We no longer order any bulbs from
these bulb dumpers.
