Re: Test garden

From: bstassen@comp.uark.edu (Robert E. Stassen)

The test garden concept is a good idea, particularly with a lower
maintenance iris, such as with SI. It is also good when you have a
situation such as provided by the Minnesota Landscape Aboretum, which
provides security, as well as maintenance. Contrast this to some of the
stories Ellen Gallagher and I listened to at the Will Rogers Garden in
Oklahoma City in May--this city park could not control plant poaching (on
everything from hostas to daylilies). This is something I had never
considered and I think others have to consider with the maintenance of
gardens on public properties. (Sorry if this is off-beat.)
