I don't think I am guilty this time.

I don't have much of a clue about what Anna Mae thinks I might be guilty of
so I can't for sure say I'm not but I don't think so this time. If the
question is Gull's Wing versus Esther C. D. M., I am simply an interested
lurker. I did acquire 6 Gull's Wings from Julius. They are potted waiting
for better planting weather and now a space to be planted. I will look
carefully at it when it blooms. If I had a way to get one of the potted
ones to you, I would do so. Or if you wouldn't mind, I could unpotted one
and send it to you. I am not sure it would survive being received in 100
degree weather, being potted and then being reshipped.
I will admit to a serious mistake that I discovered today. I wanted to move
my Siberians to a location where they will received good customer exposure.
The previous location was virtually not visible from any of the TB growing
areas and was not on a path that customers would normally take. The new bed
is half of a 120' long terrace between two other terraces which contain TBs.
I prepared most of the bed last year but ran out of time to move the
Siberians. This year I ordered Siberians from 4 different gardens. This week
I received my order from Joe Pye Weeds. What gorgeous divisions and plants.
Even the packaging was neat, clean and nicely organized. I finished
preparing what I thought was going to be THE Siberian bed. When I finished
moving my existing Siberians and planting the ones from Joe Pye Weeds, I had
one space left. Unfortunately, I have three more orders to plant.
Fortunately, the extension to the Siberian bed contains low value, first
year plants of TBs. Out they go, some to the burn pile, so I can prepare
the rest of the row for Siberians. Next time I will do some math on
figuring how long the bed needs to be rather than just guestimating.
