A few years ago an Arizona sunset turned my ‘Lady Friend’ clump as red a red as I have ever seen. I ran in the house for my camera, took its picture and posted it on Iris-Photos some time last year. For about twenty minutes it really was that red.

From pretty far back War Chief a Schreiner's introduction is about as red as anything gets growing here. Under some other growing conditions it appears darker and more ripe mulberry than red. I've not seen much progress in the color beyond it. But, there remains a bunch I've not seen in the flesh.... but gonna.
