Francelle, that is very good to know. I'm
tempted to get it, as I think it might be an interesting parent for SA's,
considering what it shows.
Wouldn't a cross of it with DEVONSHIRE CREAM be
fun! Neither have Austin heritage, both are borderline SA's. Their
progeny may allow the traits to emerge full blown.
I was thinking of trying DEVONSHIRE CREAM with
SPIRIT WORLD itself, provided the latter does bloom. The plant seems to be
getting acclimated and beginning to grow rather well. It has yet to bloom,
but looks like it may this year.
I got a couple other Keppel Luminatas last
year--DRAMA QUEEN and TELEPATHY. I've not grown any of his
Luminatas to date and wanted to see how they would perform here.
EPICENTER, one of Drama Queen's parents, has just barely held its own.
I should emphasize that poor soil and neglect is a
substantial contributor to any performance data acquired here over the past
three years. I've had a few losses and some dwindle down to near nothing
surviving. Some were worth rescuing, as I especially wanted them.
Two in particular were disturbed by moles more than I realized, and I was too
slow to lift and try to salvage the remainders. They are in pots in a
"hospital" setting, and both beginning to grow more normally. Some irises
are worth all the TLC it takes to get them running.
