Pat,

Lemon cucumbers are round, apple-size cucumbers with a light yellow skin.  I
don't think that's what you're looking for.  The flesh is pretty watery (but
tasty) and they're more of a fresh-eating cucumber.

All cucumbers, if left on the vine too long will turn yellow.  The pickling
types don't normally get larger than 6-8" long. They grow a bit fatter as
they age but that's about it.  Sounds like you could use any pickling type
and let it sit just a bit longer on the vine.
