Re: Flowers in the Veg. Garden

: Does anybody have favorite, easy-to-grow AND easily-controlled
: perennials for the vegetable garden?

When I shifted my veggie garden 2 seasons ago, the soil used was taken from
the compost pile, that had built up over a few years, and in it was lots of
flower seeds that now come up with the veggies.I had the most wonderful crop
of Oriental Poppies growing with the beetroot. The Hollyhocks grew so
tall...better than the ones in the flower garden.Grannys'Bonnets also do
very well in the veggie garden,so I just let them grow and if they are in
the way I pull them out.I do have nasturtium growing, and it can be
invasive, but I just pull out what I dont want.I know it is an annual.but if
you let it seed, it will come back each year.I never quite know what flowers
are going to appear in the veggie garden each year, but I just let them
grow,as long as they are not in the way of the veggies, and it makes for an
interesting garden...I tell people "it is a natural garden',and it sounds
good. :-)
