Hello and thank you ..... after much thought I had decided to go ahead and use
the Round-up...as much as I hate to, I realize after dealing with this stuff for
two years, it is my only recourse!! But....we have removed almost the entire
raised bed..this weekend. That too was done after much soul searching!
GEEZ..the bermuda roots..they were unbelievable. We dug to the very bottom of
the garden..which in our case is to the limestone! There are just a few of the
bermuda roots left...and I really mean just a few...those will get a treatment of
Round up.... However, I have to refill this bed now. I plan on putting either
newspaper or black plastic at the bottom and then filling it with new stuff. I
want to put just plain compost in the whole thing. I am afraid if I get any
bedding soil it will have weed seeds. After all of the work, frustration, and
tears over the bermuda.....I am just not trusting of anything!!
Would pure compost....either "mushroom" or just plain compost...be too rich?
Any suggestions on what I can use to refill this area?
Many, many, thank yous!!
