Re: wall of waters & tomato temps.


Tomatoes which are exposed to temperatures below 50 degrees are 
seriously compromised in their growing. Basically it messes up their 
internal clocks. There is a good article on this in Agricultural 
Research, October, 1996 put out by Oregon State University. The 
research was done in the ARS Photosynthesis Research Unit at Urbana, 
Ill. This process affects tomatoes, corn and soybeans. I would not be 
surprised to find other "tropicals" will similar limitations.
