Hi all,
I am curious if anyone grew anything that was new to them, either vegetable
or variety, and how it turned out? Was is worth it and will you do it again?
I grew for the first time an oriental green, Tatsoi. It is great. It tastes
good, is easy to germinate and grow, it seems indestructable, and its
really good in stir-fries. And it's cute. It can also be used very young raw
in salads. It is used locally as one of the ingredients in that hoity-toity
pre-washed expensive salad mix in our supermarkets. The seed cataloges say it
is one of the best in withstanding freezes, but I found it to be quite
resistent to bolting in the summer. It's a good vegetable. In fact, I am
surprised the grocery stores dont sell it separately. But then, most
supermarkets tend to sell the same old things.
Janet.
