I have found that diatamacious earth works well with caterpillars.  You
can get BT at Gardens Alive, but the DE is available at most feed stores.
 If they don't have it in the insecticide section, they may have it as a
feed additive.  Make sure you DO NOT get the type that is used in
filters.  It has been heat treated and is much less effective and it is
much harder on people if accidently breathed in (which is not a good idea
anyway).  By the way, our indoor cat got outside and was covered in tiny
ticks.  We dusted her with DE and the next day she had very few ticks.
