Re: harvesting my veg.

I had a successful garden mostly this year--

My successes were tomatoes, beans, corn, onions, cukes, zukes, etc.

The cool summer allowed me to grow good lettuce the whole summer, and there
was no powdery mildew on any cucurbits.

My dismal failure due to nature's variation were watermelons and canteloupe
-- too cool here this summer on the coast. My largest h2o melon was only
about 10 inches across, and only one of those. But numerous 5 inchers.

My dismal failures due to my cultural mistakes -- all my chile peppers
(sob), and my strawberries (sob) Both were due to not preparing the soil
properly.

The garden was extremely fun this summer and more productive than ever. I
even have sold alot of excess produce to friends.
