Hi again everyone:
Virginia
Sweetspire.
I think I just saw that on a garden show. Doesn't it
sucker profusely? Pretty red fall color, though?
Are the Barberries you were referring to Berberis?
I really like 'Crimson Pygmy' -- it stays about 2 x 2.
The larger ones are gorgeous but are, um, larger!
I am thinking about ordering one of the pink
flowered Clethras this spring.
Do they leaf out real late?
I have clethra alnafolia 'Pink Spire.' They do leaf
out late and mine is just now turning yellow in my
6b/7a garden. They do sucker quite a bit; you'll
have plants to share in no time. It is the only shrub
that blooms that late in summer in my garden. Its a
wonderful shrub.

For mine is just a little old-fashioned garden where
the flowers come together to praise the Lord and
teach all who look upon them to do likewise.
