Re: protection help

OK, I'm on the verge now...
I have completely deleted MacAfee and am totally vulnerable. I would like to try the free versions of the suggested items first. I have found:
AVG virus protection
AVG spyware protection
Adaware adware protection
Search & Destroy by Spybot

However, I don't think any one mentioned Firewall protection. I need that don't I? I googled it and found some free products, but nothing I recognize. Has anyone heard of or used
Comodo
Zone Alarm
Sunbelt Kerio
Outpost
or something else you'd suggest?

I use AVG, AdAware, and Spybot also, since they are free and so far they work well. There, you have my 2 cents worth.

Tech support at my ISP recommends AVG for virus/spam, AdAware & Spybot Search & Destroy. These are all freeware. I only run the last 2 a couple times each week. AVG scans every day. So far so good. I got so annoyed with the Norton that came on my computer and McAfee was just as irritating to me.

Thanks - I also got a message from Marge, touting the wonders of AVG.
I think I'm headed that way!

Mother and I have used this AVG free program for years w/ no problems
whatsoever. Worth a try, doesn't cost a dime!

Thanks. AVG has a good reputation.
