I was afraid of conflicts, so I took off what I had first. I planned to immediately go get the other stuff, but got stumped by the firewall thing.
I'm checking now for Aone Alarm, thanks. Kitty neIN, Zone 5----- Original Message ----- From: "Daryl" <pulis@mindspring.com>

I use Zone Alarm, the free version on my laptop, the pro on my desktop. But Yikes! You have no protection now? I usually download everything I'm planning to use, then uninstall whatever was there.d----- Original Message ----- From: "Kitty" <kmrsy@comcast.net>To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Sunday, January 20, 2008 1:19 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] protection helpOK, I'm on the verge now...I have completely deleted MacAfee and am totally vulnerable. I would like to try the free versions of the suggested items first. I have found:AVG virus protection AVG spyware protection Adaware adware protection Search & Destroy by SpybotHowever, I don't think any one mentioned Firewall protection. I need that don't I? I googled it and found some free products, but nothing I recognize. Has anyone heard of or usedComodo Zone Alarm Sunbelt Kerio Outpost or something else you'd suggest? There, you have my 2 cents worth.Judy Browning wrote:Tech support at my ISP recommends AVG for virus/spam, AdAware & Spybot Search & Destroy. These are all freeware. I only run the last 2 a couple times each week. AVG scans every day. So far so good. I got so annoyed with the Norton that came on my computer and McAfee was just as irritating to me.Judy B ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kitty" <kmrsy@comcast.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2008 4:40 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] protection helpThanks - I also got a message from Marge, touting the wonders of AVG.
