Re: [GWL]: Maybe it is the publisher

In one case, for me, it WAS the publisher. I had been writing articles on
all sorts of odd subjects that other magazines wouldn't buy, and had one
steady customer. I didn't make a lot per word at that magazine, but it was
a fun place to write for. They published articles from me on everything from
do-it-yourself plant breeding to mycorrhizal fungi, and a lot of really odd
stuff in between. I got a letter from one fellow who said he bought the
magazine just to see my articles. Ironically, just after that the publisher
changed the focus completely and wouldn't buy any of my stuff any more.
Now I can't find anyplace that will take any of those sorts of articles.
They were the kind of things where you get to stretch yourself and dig into
information you don't get to use anywhere else.
