Re: [GWL]: resources on yucky garden problems

I'd be interested to know what books/web resources people on the list would recommend to gardeners and garden writers for dealing responsibly and sensibily with common garden problems such as pests, diseases, weeds, critters, and so on.

By the way, I highly recommend Eric Grissel's new book from Timber Press, Insects and Gardens. It's a wonderful read with lots of food for thought, practical advice for gardeners and good photos of lovely and not so lovely insects. There's even a section on getting over your fear of insects (a decade in the garden did it for me, though I wasn't all that phobic to begin with.). The book is written with humor, expert insight (Grissel is an entomologist) and a lot of wisdom. I give it an A+++ . You'll come away with an appreciation of insects.
