Re: Portland, Oregon gardens
Hi Catriona,
Several of the Portland area wholesale growers hosted GWA members at their facilities, which also have lovely gardens. Terra Nova was interesting. Co-owner Dan Heims, a GWA member and breeder, has introduced many new plants to the market. Iseli Nursery, known for its' specimen conifers, has fabulous gardens. Monrovia also has a huge operation nearby, with inspiring grounds and gardens.
I don't believe any of these is regularly open to the public, but they're all GWA allied trades members who probably would welcome a fellow GWA member, if you call ahead. They're all listed in your GWA directory under Allied Trade Members.
See you in North Carolina this year!
