About the info Master Gardeners pass along:  many states have land grant 
university systems, meaning they depend heavily upon corporate dollars to 
fund agricultural education and programs such as extension services and 
master gardener programs.  Many of the corporations are seed, chemical and 
agriculture producers.  Is the picture clearer?
