Some companies don't seem to be able to propagate an inventory of plants
to fill back ordered sales when the shipping weather allows frost free
transit throughout the cold winter portions of our country.
Glasshouse Works is an example of such an operation. I waited 5 months
for a partial shipment. The balance never arrived. There was no itemized
invoice of plants in the shipment, or explanation of what was
backordered. Nice web site - poor quality plants and even worse customer
service.
When you are preparing an article on how to create hanging baskets using
plant material that is only available from specialty mail order
suppliers, fast, reliable delivery of starter plants is just as
important as the selection of varieties. Delivery in mid September just
is unacceptable.
Logee's Greenhouses seems to be selective in what they advertise and
carry an inventory so they can immediately start shipping when the
weather allows in the spring. A first class operation judging from the
transactions I have received over a period of several years.
I also have personally dealt with and can highly recommend:

<http://www.brentandbeckysbulbs.com/>
I have had extremely bad service and experienced outright fraud from a
Aaron's Bulb Farm in TyTy, GA. There are several businesses with
different DBA's with the name Aaron in the name, but they are owned and
operated by the same owner. <http://www.aaronscanna-amaryllis.com/>
Aaron's bad press is well deserved. His business practices are as bad as
Michigan Bulb Company! Too bad he spends so much money on creating a
web site as his efforts to deliver quality disease, insect and virus
free plant material that is true to its label are virtually nonexistent.
Any guarantee is worthless in my opinion.
