Dogs and snakes -- NOT a guarantee that you won't get snakes.  I just had one 
of my greyhounds bit last month by a rattlesnake.  
It's worth spending money to figure out how to keep them out and I'd welcome 
any suggestions.  I think the answer's going to be concrete block walls. 
Treatment for snake bite is expensive -- one vial of antivenom is almost 500 
bucks, and you administer one vial per 50 lbs of dog.
