I'm building raised beds for the first time, and I have some questions
about the recipe Mel gives for soil in his book. I'll be buying everything
from Home Depot or a garden supply center.
**1**
Is sphagnum peat moss the same as regular peat moss? (Can you tell I've
never gardened before?) If not, is it better to use sphagnum or the regular
stuff?
**2**
I've seen bags or organic and inorganic compost for sale at Home Depot.
Will this work as well as home-made compost (which I don't have now, and
which I won't have ready for awhile)?
**3**
What sort of organic fertilizer is best?
And I'd be happy to hear about anyone's successful variations on Mel's recipe.
Thanks much!
Bob
