Re: veggie beds/person?

The problem here is not the amount of food, but management (as you said).
It takes work to keep up with weeding and watering. Okay, it's not as much
work as it could be doing it the non-SQ way, but it's still work. It's easy
to stop all weeding & etc. when there gets to be too much of it for you
("too much" varies by individual, of course). My opinion, for what it's
worth, is that it's best to start with too little space than too much. You
can always grow more next year, right?

That said, 2 beds of 4x8 doesn't seem like too much to me for a beginner.
It's about what I started with. However, I ignored Mel's watering advice
and just used a sprinkler system.
