Try a composting tumbler of some sort. I don't have one, but my
mother does and she says it works very well. It makes compost in less than
a month when used with "Super Hot". She bought her *Green Magic" tumbler
from Gardener's Supply a couple of years ago for about $110.00. The address
is 128 Intervale Road; Burlington, Vermont 05401-2850; Voice:1-800-863-1700
Fax: 1-800-551-6712.

Another option: Check with your city's solid waste disposal unit.
They may have a composing facility where you can buy city compost by the
truck load. It's sort of a municipal scam, but I play the game because it's
easier and I don't want to waste my space (pun intended) making my own
compost. If such a program is not in place in your city you might want to
kick-start one.

Here's how it works in Fayetteville: I pay the city around $5.00 a
month (in addition to my regular sanitation and water fees) to pick up my
leaves, tree limbs, and prunings...cut, wrapped and bagged to their
specifications. The city composts the waste and sells it back to me twice a
year on designated Saturdays for between $10.00 to $20.00 a truck load
depending upon the size of the truck. It's a good deal if you own a pick-up
truck, but I'm just barely breaking even when I have to hire someone to haul
and unload it. It's worth it when my garden produces beautiful flowers and
luscious vegetables!
